Winter League Rules
Competition Format
The Winter League is scored using each player’s best 10 rounds from the season.
The season runs from 10 October until 30 March.
Only rounds submitted as part of the Saturday Morning Group count.
Scorecard Verification
All submitted cards must be verified by at least one other player.
League Points
- 1st place — 20 points
- 2nd place — 15 points
- 3rd place — 13 points
- 4th place — 10 points
- Each subsequent placing reduces by 1 point
- All players receive at least 1 point
Entry Fees & Prize Structure
£10.00 season registration fee.
This forms the overall season prize pot:
- 1st — 50%
- 2nd — 30%
- 3rd — 20%
Weekly entry fee: £2
Weekly prize pot follows the same split.
If you are £2 in, you MUST enter your scorecard.
Handicaps
Players start with 95% of their MyEG official handicap.
Handicaps are dynamic and adjust weekly based on the field score‑to‑par average.
Weekly movement limits:
- Maximum increase: +2
- Maximum reduction: -3
Players must use their posted Current Handicap for the next round.
Tee Boxes
Saturday League rounds are played from the Yellow Tees.
Competition‑day league rounds may also be submitted, but must be played from:
- White Tees, or
- The tees stipulated by the club
All players must play from the same tee box.
Discounted Rounds
If a player submits a No Result (NR) round, their score will not contribute to the field’s score‑to‑par average.
An NR round will not influence the player’s handicap. The player will remain on the same handicap for the next round.
In addition, any round containing 4 or more Pick‑Ups will be treated as void and will not apply any handicap adjustment.
Discounted rounds do not count toward:
- Field average
- Weekly points
- Placings
- Best 10
- Total league points
- Highest Stableford
- Handicap movement
